Ecosteryl’s executive board expands

5 min.

After IMBC (Invest Mons Borinage) and Wallonie Entreprendre, BNP Paribas Fortis Private Equity joins Ecosteryl’s executive board. Together, IMBC, Wallonie Entreprendre and BNP Paribas Fortis Private Equity will allow Ecosteryl to reach new heights of success.

It is a great honour to have such wonderful associates that accompany us in fulfilling our mission, which consists of offering decontamination solutions to enhance health and respect the environment”, explains Philippe Dufrasne, founder and chairman of Ecosteryl. “The collaboration with BNP Paribas Fortis Private Equity, a bank that has been supporting Ecosteryl’s projects for years, will boost our position internationally.”

To Raf Moons, responsible for the Private Equity activity at BNP Paribas Fortis, it is “a pride and a pertinent choice. This collaboration is perfectly in line with our ambition to evolve towards companies that respect the social, environmental and good governance criteria.

IMBC and Wallonie Entreprendre’s stakes date back to three years ago. They stemmed from a willingness to maintain an industrial presence in Wallonia (Belgium) and to promote the inter-generational transfer of undertakings. That is also Ecosteryl’s will. Sabine Colson, the Cession and Acquisition coordinator at Wallonie Entreprendre, said, “We contribute to the decision-making centre so that the company’s future innovations have knock-on benefits on the regional economic fabric.

IMBC has been supporting Ecosteryl’s developments for three decades.
In the eyes of Sylvie Crêteur, IMBC’s CEO, “Witnessing how a company becomes a model and being on such a growing board is an ever-renewed pleasure. From the Initialis Innovation Pole in Mons, Ecosteryl aims to globally eradicate the environmental and health problems related to potentially infectious medical waste. The company’s rapid growth leaves us no choice but to believe that this ambition is achievable.

BNP Paribas Fortis PE’s collaboration will allow us to rely on key international relays for our development. With these three associates, our objective is to maximize Ecosteryl’s impact as a leading provider of ecological solutions for the treatment and recycling of medical waste.”, says Amélie Matton, CEO of Ecosteryl.

Ecosteryl’s executive board now consists of:

Philippe Dufrasne, Olivier Dufrasne et Romain Dufrasne (the founding family)
Amélie Matton – CEO of Ecosteryl
Bernard Gilliot – Independent administrator (ex-président of FEB)
Sabine Colson – Coordinator of Wallonie Entreprendre
Sylvie Crêteur – CEO of IMBC
Anne Wautier – Investment Manager of Private Equity at BNP Paribas Fortis
