Inauguration officielle
The President of the Republic of The Gambia, H.E. Adama Barrow, inaugurates one Ecosteryl 250
The Gambia recorded its first case of Covid-19 in March 2020. Since then, the World Bank has invested $110 million to help the Gambian government improve its health system.
These investments included the acquisition of equipment for the decontamination of infectious medical waste. The Ecosteryl solution was chosen. The World Bank invested in an Ecosteryl 250 for the Farato centre and in an Ecosteryl 75+ at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital.
The official inauguration took place on 5 July 2022. Our technical team was on hand to give a demonstration. The Ecosteryl 250 can indeed treat/decontaminate between 250 and 300kg of medical waste per hour.
And we had the honour of counting on the remarkable presence of
- The President of the Republic of The Gambia: H.E. Adama Barrow
- The Minister of Health of The Gambia: Dr. Ahmadou Lamin Samateh
- The Managing Director of the World Bank: Mr. Axel van Trotsenburg
Thank you to all the teams who made this project possible.
We wish these machines a long journey in the smallest country on the African continent.
